Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez gave a warm welcome to her soon-to-be-daughter-in-law Maine Mendoza as the new addition to their family.
In an Instagram post uploaded on Monday, July 24, Sylvia shared footage and some snaps of the bridal shower hosted by her family for her son Arjo Atayde’s fiancée.
The women of the Atayde family attended the pajama party-themed event in the comfort of their sleepwear.
In a video, Sylvia can be seen introducing Maine wearing a veil to Arjo’s aunts, grandmothers, and other female relatives where one even referenced the greeting “Hi Barbie” from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and replaced it with “Hi Bride”.
One photo showed Maine in all smiles as she took a snap beside the large gifts she received from her fiancé’s family.
“Happy to welcome you to our big happy and crazy family. Soon!!! Mrs. Maine Mendoza Atayde ka na. Can’t wait for the big day. Love you, my soon-to-be daughter-in-law,” Sylvia wrote in her post on Monday.
The actress-host expressed her gratitude to the Atayde family especially to her “future mom” in the comments section.
“Aahhhh thank you so much Roco, Campo, and Atayde family for last night ❤️ Had such a wonderful time with everyone. Thank you, tita… future mom!!! Love you,” wrote Maine.
This marks the second celebration of the bride-to-be as her co-hosts in the noontime show E.A.T.’s have also organized a bridal shower for their fellow Dabarkad during one of its segments last Saturday, July 22.
Maine and Arjo got engaged on July 29 2022 after more than three years of being a couple.
