Boy Abunda is officially back as a Kapuso.
Following speculations of a network transfer, GMA News reported that the “King of Talk” has formally signed a contract with GMA Network on Thursday, December 15.
The Kapuso network welcomed the veteran TV host back in a “grand homecoming event” after almost two decades of being a Kapamilya.
“We’re happy you’re home, Kapuso!” read GMA Network’s caption on its Instagram posts showing Boy’s contract-signing and photos with GMA Entertainment executives.
Prior to being a Kapamilya, Boy launched his TV career in GMA Network in 1994, hosting showbiz-oriented talk shows Show and Tell and Startalk, among others.
“Nag-umpisa po ako sa GMA 7 mayroon pa po akong buhok. Ngayon, wala na po, pero laban pa rin ho,” Boy said in jest during his speech.
“Maraming salamat po sa makapusong pagtanggap n’yo dito sa akin dito sa GMA-7. I am grateful. Hindi po ako mangangako, Atty. Gozon. I will commit to working hard, to doing the best I can, to be able to deliver the best entertainment, the best interviews, the best shows that I am going to do for GMA-7. Salamat,” he added.
