All is well between Sharon Cuneta and the Sotto family who have reunited a month after the elections.
In a series of Instagram posts, Sharon shared photos of her bonding with Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto, his wife Helen Hamboa, and their children.
The Megastar called Tito “daddy”, and Helen “mama” in the captions.
Sharon’s late mom Elaine Gamboa is the sister of Helen.
The actress-singer, along with the family members, were all smiles in the photos taken on Saturday night.
It can be recalled that Sharon in October 2021, bared having a “heavy heart” over her husband Kiko Pangilinan and Tito Sotto vying for the vice presidency in the May 2022 national elections.
“I come home with a happy but heavy heart. Two men I greatly love — one whom I have known since birth, and the other, one I exchanged solemn vows with twenty-five years ago, are about to vie for the second-highest position in the country, and once again, I do not know what I could have done so wrong to find myself in the midst of two rocks,” wrote Sharon Instagram post after returning home from the United States at the time.
She continued, “’What could I, can I do? I pray that after this game called politics is over, that wounds are healed, loved ones do not doubt your love for them, and I and my sisters, especially, the only family I have left besides my own, find our way back to one another’s arms, unscathed and free of the pain our battle scars have brought us.’
On the last day of campaign on May 8, Sharon thanked Sotto, whom she addressed as her second father, for showing her love amid the family rift.
“I love you very much, Dad, but this has been…I hope this doesn’t divide our family, our families,” Sharon said.
She, as well, gave a message to her aunt Helen.
“Mama Helen, the only peace I find in my heart is that you would have done the exact same thing for Daddy, if you would have been in my shoes. After all, you raised me also, and I’m so much like you, ’cause I am your eldest,” said Sharon.
Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was proclaimed Vice President-elect last May 25.
