Angel Locsin offered her apologies after a huge crowd flocked to a community pantry she set up in Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City on her birthday, which allegedly led to a violation of social distancing protocols.
In a video posted on her Instagram account, Angel stressed that it was not her intention to cause any problems, saying that the distribution of goods was going well at first but eventually, some of those who came supposedly cut the line.
News outlets on Friday morning also reported that a 67-year-old man fainted while lining up for the community pantry and was later pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
The actress also noted that even the authorities had a difficult time controlling the crowd.
Angel decided to put up a community pantry on her 36th birthday in hopes of giving aid to people and honoring the Filipinos’ “bayanihan” spirit through the initiative started by Ana Patricia Non with her Maginhawa community pantry also in Quezon City.
In her latest update, Angel shared how the system has been fixed and order restored at the community pantry.
