Actress Heart Evangelista will be giving away tablets to students who need them for online classes.
The 35-year-old took to social media to ask those in need of the gadget for online schooling as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
“For those who don’t have tablets for online school please dm me on ig… I will be giving away as much tablets as I can,” she wrote on Twitter.
She explained that she has heard that having a tablet or a computer is a requirement for the upcoming school year.
“I heard having a tablet or computer is a requirement for online classes so I will do the best I can. I’m sorry I can’t help everyone but I will try to help as much as I can,” she said.
The Department of Education (DepEd), however, repeatedly clarified that their new approach to learning does not mean that students would require these devices and internet connectivity to access educational content.
On May 28, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said they will try different approaches such as the use of printed materials and education through radio and television.
