On Tuesday, ABS-CBN released a statement after its news channels on video-sharing platform YouTube were terminated.
The media giant stated that they are already investigating the matter with YouTube to resolve the problem. In the meantime, they asked the public to view their livestreams and reports on their TeleRadyo channel.
“We are aware of the problem of accessing ABS-CBN News channels on YouTube. We are currently investigating this and working closely with YouTube to resolve this problem. In the meantime, you can catch our livestreams and news reports on the Teleradyo Channel. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” they wrote.
As of 12 noon, the videos embedded in ABS-CBN News’ articles are still unavailable.
The error message read: “This video is no longer available because the Youtube account associated with this video has been terminated.”
Meanwhile, in ABS-CBN News’ YouTube channel, the profile cannot be accessed anymore. Another error message explained that the account was terminated for a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.
According to YouTube, the reasons for any channel’s termination are repeated violations of their community guidelines or terms of service and copyright infringement claims.
ABS-CBN made most of their content such as news reports available online after congress rejected their bid for a franchise renewal.
