The legit Dabarkads are officially back on TV with the pilot episode of their new show titled “E.A.T.” on TV5.
Eat Bulaga original hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon (a.k.a. TVJ) along with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Maine Mendoza, Ryan Agoncillo, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and Carren Eistrup had a hot and festive welcome at their “new home” in TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong on Saturday, July 1.
Among the OG Dabarkads performed during their production were Sandwich’s Sugod and fittingly the OPM classic Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal, which was written by Joey and composed by Tito under the group VST&Co.
“Dito tayo dinala ng tadhana. Tuloy ang ating kwento. Tuloy ang isang libo’t isang tuwa,” TVJ said as they emotionally made their way to the studio and shared a group hug.
The iconic trio, Tito, Vic, and Joey (TVJ), along with their co-Dabarkads also sang Eat Bulaga’s theme song “Isang libo’t isang Tuwa” emphasizing the “E-A-T” and refraining from singing “Bulaga,” amid the trademark war with their former blocktime producer TAPE, Inc., which is still running Eat Bulaga but with new hosts.
During their banter, the legit Dabarkads took turns in giving their own meaning to the acronym E-A-T, such as “Eto Ang Totoo”, Everyday All Together” , and “Everyday ang Tawanan”.
While avid fans flock to the TV5 Media Center, and watch parties were held in different areas, family members of the TVJ, especially Sotto clan were spotted in the studio such as Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Oyo Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Danica Sotto, and Kristine Hermosa.
E-A-T’s pilot episode on TV5 marks TVJ’s return to TV after a month since they parted ways with producer Television and Production Exponent (TAPE), Inc. on May 31.
The show also coincides with noontime show It’s Showtime’s first airing on GMA Network’s GTV channel, and revamped Eat Bulaga’s “first monthsary”.
