Angel Locsin took to social media to share a photo of her recent meeting with Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
“Had a productive meeting with mayor Magalong and Sir Roland last week for COVID vaccines and (Iba ‘Yan) when we were in Baguio,” wrote Angel in an Instagram post on Saturday, January 30.
The Kapamilya star went on to share her experience with the mayor who recently drew flak after attending the controversial birthday party of eventologist Tim Yap in the city, where guests were seen not wearing masks and observing social distancing.
Angel was joined in the meeting by director-producer fiancé Neil Arce and the staff of her ABS-CBN show Iba ‘Yan.
“He reminded us to wear our masks and face shields and to respect the locals by following safety protocols. He also wore his mask the whole time,” the actress said of Magalong.
Angel continued to say that she wants to present the other side of the mayor as she lauded his “accountability and sense of honor” for owning up to certain lapses during the birthday party.
“Just putting this here not to justify pero para may ibang side naman 🙂 ang refreshing makita sa balita na may accountability at sense of honor ang isang opisyal para aminin ang pagkakamali. Kelangan natin ng mga ganito. Also, magaling siya,” added Angel.
According to a report by Philstar.com on Friday, Magalong tendered his resignation as the government’s contact tracing czar but was denied.
On Friday, January 29, the Baguio Public Information Office said that 33 attendees at the party, including celebrity guest KC Concepcion and the mayor’s wife Arlene Magalong, were made to settle penalties for violating city ordinances on COVID-19 safety protocols.
