‘Bayani po kayong lahat’: Game of Thrones star has a special message for Medical City frontliners

-

Game of Thrones star Milton Yerolemou has sent a message of support and encouragement to the COVID-19 frontliners at The Medical City in Ortigas, Pasig City.

“Greetings Medical City oath takers COVID ER. My name is Milton Yerolemou. I am an actor, I’m based in the UK. I’m probably best known for playing Syrio Forel, the First Sword of Braavos and Arya Stark’s dancing master in Game of Thrones,” he began his message in a video shared by the official Facebook page of The Medical City.

The actor said that his friend’s father lost his battle to the coronavirus last week “but his family told me of the care your team gave him and the brave work that you do for all your patients each and every day. You face fatigue, shortages of supplies, and the very real risk of infection. They want you to know that you, all of you, are their heroes.”

“They also asked me to tell you to keep safe, rest well and to take care,” he added.

He went on to acknowledge several Medical City doctors and told them that they are in their prayers.

Yerolemou then delivered his message in Filipino: “Huwag po kayong susuko. Bayani po kayong lahat. Maraming, maraming salamat po.”

“And remember, there’s only one thing that we say to the god of death — not today,” he said, calling to mind the iconic line from the widely-popular drama series.

Fans of the show will remember the line from a Season 1 scene wherein Syrio Forel, while teaching Arya to become a master swordswoman, told his young student: “There is only one god and his name is death. And there is only one thing we say to death, ‘Not Today.'”

“Stay strong, stay safe, and thank you for everything that you do,” Yerolemou ended his message.
