Before making his name in the music industry, Daryl Ong was an animator. Ten years ago, the singer-songwriter created animation for the ABS-CBN programs Super Inggo and Ang Super Tropa.
“Kasi noon sa third floor kami tapos every time na nagko-coffee break kami, sinisipat ko yung recording studio ng ABS-CBN. Tinitingnan ko, sabi ko sana may matiyempuhan akong singer or sana someday maka-record ako diyan,” he said in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
After his stint as an animator, he took the long route to the industry and joined a band before auditioning for the singing contest The Voice.
“Hindi ako nanalo. Kumbaga, hindi talaga meant sa akin yung competition. Pero nabigyan ako ng chance din ng ABS-CBN, especially Dreamscape. Sobrang thankful ako kina Sir Deo (Endrinal),” he shared.
