Her role requires fluency in English and familiarity with Mandarin.

Applicants for his role must be fluent in English and conversational in Mandarin.
The casting call is accepting submissions until Nov. 30, 2026. It also clarified that there is no fee required to audition and that applicants do not need to memorize lines before their interview or audition.
The upcoming eight-episode series will expand the world introduced in Kwan’s 2013 novel, which was adapted into the hit 2018 romantic comedy film starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding.
According to reports, several original cast members are returning for the next installment, including Wu and Golding, alongside Ronny Chieng and Michelle Yeoh, who are all set to reprise their respective roles.
While HBO has yet to reveal specific plot details, the series is expected to draw from Kwan’s acclaimed book trilogy, which also includes “China Rich Girlfriend” and “Rich People Problems”.
