Singer Klarisse de Guzman is mourning the passing of her mother, Esnobie de Guzman, whom she paid tribute to in an emotional social media post on Saturday.
“Mahal na mahal kita, Mama ko. Iyakap mo na lang ako kay Papa ah. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” Klarisse wrote, referring to her late father.
No further details about her mother’s passing have been shared.
Earlier in the week, Klarisse asked for prayers for her mother in a message shared through her Instagram broadcast channel.
“Namamanhid ako. I’m so scared. Pwede nyo po ba isama si Mama sa prayers nyo?” she wrote.
During her stint on Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), Klarisse revealed that her mother was undergoing dialysis three times a week.
Esnobie also expressed her unconditional love and support for Klarisse during the singer’s time on the reality show, where she opened up about being part of the LGBTQ+ community and her relationship with her partner, Trina.
“Basta ang lagi mong iisipin, full support ako sa iyo. Kung saan ka masaya anak, doon ako,” Esnobie told her daughter in a video message.
She also told Klarisse how proud she was of her, adding, “Ipinagmamalaki kita sa buong mundo na anak kita, Klang. I love you anak, I miss you.”
The heartfelt message moved Klarisse, who expressed gratitude for her parents’ acceptance and support.
“Never nila ipinaramdam sa akin na kakulangan ‘yung katayuan ko, Kuya, na isa siyang sakit,” she told PBB host Big Brother. “Habambuhay ko ‘yon babaunin.”
Klarisse added that her parents’ acceptance had helped her feel whole and confident in embracing who she is.
“Ang nangyari ngayon is madali po. Kasi unang-una, natanggap na po ako ng dalawang tao na napakaimportante sa buhay ko—’yung parents ko po,” she said.
