Members of KATSEYE expressed their excitement over the upcoming return of Sophia after her hiatus to focus on her health and well-being.
The group recently performed their hit songs “Pinky Up” and “Animal” at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 18.
During an interview with E! News at the event, members Lara, Megan, Yoonchae, and Daniela shared their thoughts on Sophia’s anticipated return.
“We are so happy that she’s coming back,” Lara said. “We’re so proud of her. She’s really been so brave.”
“We respect her so much for taking the space and taking time for her health. She’s our sister, so we can’t wait for her to come back,” she added.
“We’ve been through so much together, and we’ve built such a family together,” Megan said. “Being able to go through this journey with my sisters has just been the best experience of my life.”
Sophia, KATSEYE’s sole Filipino member, announced in August that she would be taking a break from group activities to prioritize her physical and mental health.
She became the second member to go on hiatus after Manon, who has been on a hiatus since February.
Earlier this month, the group’s labels, HYBE and Geffen Records, confirmed that Sophia is expected to resume group activities in the first week of January 2027.
In a statement, the labels said Sophia had been prioritizing her health with their “full support and resources.” They also confirmed that she would not participate in the North American leg of the group’s “The Wildworld Tour” or in their remaining promotional activities for 2026.
“We look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027,” the statement read.
