It was a double Pinoy pride moment at Coachella as Filipina idol Sophia Laforteza took the stage with global girl group KATSEYE, following the historic debut of P-pop sensation BINI.
Sophia took the Sahara stage for a milestone moment in her career, made even more special when she noticed a Philippine flag in the crowd.
“I’m overwhelmed with emotion. It’s so beautiful. I see some people raising the Filipino flag here in Coachella. You guys are making our dreams come true,” she shared.
Back home, her mother, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, expressed her pride, revealing she tuned in early just to watch her daughter’s performance.
“Then of course I tuned in at 11 a.m. to cry the entire time while watching my Sophia,” the former Bagets:The Musical star said in an Instagram story.

KATSEYE, composed of Sophia, Megan, Daniela, Lara, and Yoonchae, turned up the heat with an electrifying set, performing tracks like “Gnarly,” “Gabriela,” “Touch,” and their latest single “Pinky Up,” which they performed live for the first time.
Manon, meanwhile, missed the performance as she remains on hiatus.
