Dingdong Dantes explores local communities in upcoming GMA Public Affairs docu about ‘failed’ gov’t projects

Kapuso actor-host Dingdong Dantes takes on a “man on a mission” role in the upcoming GMA Public Affairs documentary that will delve into ghost projects and unfinished infrastructure developments across the country.

The special documentary, titled “Broken Roads, Broken Promises”, is scheduled to air on November 15.

As part of its production, Dantes recently traveled to a municipality in Northern Samar to speak with residents affected by the stalled projects.

“Ang purpose ng pagpunta namin [sa isang bayan sa Northern Samar] ay para kausapin ang isang case study for this documentary na ginagawa natin under GMA Public Affairs,” Dantes explained in a report aired on 24 Oras.

He noted that the documentary aims to shed light on how failed infrastructure projects have hindered local progress and disrupted essential frontline services, particularly in remote areas.

Dingdong also shared his sentiment about witnessing firsthand the frustrations and daily challenges faced by affected communities, saying, “Iba kapag nabibigyan ng mukha ‘yung problema, nararamdaman mo talaga ‘yung kanilang paghihirap, ‘yung kanilang frustration, at ‘yung kanilang mga pangarap.”

Through the documentary, Dantes hopes to encourage awareness and accountability regarding ongoing development issues in the country.

Definitely more so dun sa mga talagang accountable dito,” he said.
