Liza Soberano has revealed that she once believed marriage was in the cards for her and Enrique Gil before their relationship ended nearly three years ago.
The actress made the revelation as she confirmed long-standing rumors about her breakup with the actor in a candid interview on Can I Come In?
“Quen and I broke up. We’ve been broken up for almost three years now,” shared the actress.
She shared that they initially kept the split private at Enrique’s request. “I think it was coming from a place of not wanting it to be real… I also didn’t want it to be real,” she said, adding that she feared public backlash and its effect on her career.
Liza described the separation as amicable, saying, “When I broke up with him, it was such a beautiful breakup because it was still full of love… I still love him as a person. When I look back at our time together, I just see good moments.”
“We were already at the point, almost eight years together, and I was genuinely expecting us to get married soon—but that didn’t happen,” she added.
The Alone/Together star admitted feelings of guilt for ending the relationship despite fan expectations. “He didn’t do anything bad… We just weren’t a match anymore. I needed to find myself and grow too.”
Soberano and Gil, known to fans as LizQuen, began dating in 2014 and went public in 2019, starring in several hit TV series and films together.
