After more than a year of dating, social media star Bretman Rock has confirmed his breakup with boyfriend Justice Fester.
The announcement comes after fans began speculating about the couple’s relationship status. Taking to Instagram Stories, Bretman said in a video that the split was both “mutual and amicable.”
“A lot of you guys have been asking in the comments and DMs where Justice is,” he said. “I just wanted to quickly address that we are no longer together.”
The two had recently celebrated their anniversary in May. Despite their breakup, Bretman emphasized that they remain friends and there’s still love between them.
“We still have love for each other. And I do believe that if it’s divine timingif we’re really meant for each other—then we’ll find each other again. That’s exactly how we found each other this time anyway,” he shared.
He added that their decision was rooted in mutual respect and a desire to prioritize their well-being.
“We’re still friends. Everything was a mutual, mature understanding,” he said, adding that mental health, self-love, and open communication were their top priority from the beginning.
Bretman also asked fans to respect their privacy and refrain from pointing fingers at anybody.
“This was truly just two adults coming to the conclusion that this isn’t something we want to do right now, but it is something we need to do for our mental health,” he explained. “That was something we truly valued, and now we just want to focus on ourselves,” he added.
“I would say this is my self-love era, but girl, I always have loved myself, so period. Just give us time. It’s all up,” he ended on lighthearted note.
