Ricardo Cadavero, better known as Cardong Trumpo, made history as the newest Grand Winner of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 7 with an almost perfect finale score.
Among the top eight acts who battled it out for the title, Cardong Trumpo, a spinning top exhibitionist, garnered the highest combined score of 99.5%.from both the judges and public votes, emerging as the talent show’s newest champion on Sunday night, June 22.
Following him were dance group Femme MNL, who placed second with 50.4%, and magician Carl Quion, who placed third with 47.8%.
Ricardo brought home P2 million cash prize, while Femme MNL received P100,000, and Quion with P150,000.
During the finale episode, host Robi Domingo asked the emotional winner what he was feeling in the moment.
Ricardo responded tearfully, saying, “Pangarap ko lang po na ‘yung isang kilong bigas magkasya lang sa tatlong beses sa isang araw, pero sobra-sobra itong binigay niyo sa’kin. Lord, thank you, at sa inyong lahat, maraming, maraming salamat!”
In a post-show interview with showbiz reporter MJ Felipe, the PGT winner revealed that he plans to use his winnings for his child’s education.
“Gagamitin ko sa isang magandang paraan. Hindi magsisisi ‘yung tao na nagbigay sa’kin nito,” he said.
