TW: This article contains mentions of cyberbullying and mental health issues.
Actor and filmmaker Fifth Solomon was rushed to the emergency room after suffering a mental breakdown, which he said was triggered by intense online bullying following his decision to publicly share his cosmetic enhancements.
In a now-deleted post, Solomon revealed he was taken to the ER with his sister, actress Chariz Solomon.
“I’m okay now. I’m in the ER with my sister,” he wrote. “I had a mental breakdown because of the online bullying. Thanks to all the people who reached out.”
The former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate recently shared about undergoing several cosmetic procedures, including a face lift, fox eye surgery, rhinoplasty, and a hair transplant. However, instead of support, he said he received harsh backlash and degrading comments from netizens.
In his Sunday post on X and Instagram, Solomon candidly addressed the criticisms hurled at him, writing, “RETOKADA. FLOP. BALIW. MENTAL HOSPITAL. DDS. INCERUN. TOO FEM.”
“Call me names. Laugh all you want. I’ve heard worse. Survived worse. I grew up with no blueprint, no guidance, no safety net. So I taught myself how to fight, how to bite back. The world isn’t kind. I stopped trying to be.”
Fifth affirmed his resilience despite experiencing negativity, adding, “Truth is, we all like to play clean but live dirty. Most of us enjoy watching others fall. Let’s not pretend. But me? You can’t bring me down. Only the people I love have that power. And even then, I’ll still get up. I know who I am. I know what I’m worth. No one gets to rewrite that.”
Solomon also declared in a separate post, that has since been deleted from his social media accounts, that he is stepping back from his public and professional responsibilities after feeling overwhelmed by online criticism.
In it, he shared plans to take a break, seek therapy, and possibly travel overseas to recover.
“I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately—with all the noise, the hate, the pressure. I’ve decided to take a step back. I need to breathe. I need space. I need healing. Some therapy. A little shopping. Maybe even a cute vacation,” wrote Fifth. “Sounds like exactly what I need right now. And maybe… I need another stay at the mental hospital too.”
Solomon also announced that he would be stepping back from managing “Hoesik Bar & Lounge”, which he described as a “passion project”, and turn it over to a trusted friend due to his mental health condition.
Hoesik is an inclusive nightlife establishment located in Poblacion, Makati.
“No matter where I go or what I do, Hoesik will always be close to my heart. I think I am a PWD who cannot work anymore because of my mental health. I’d just stay at home or die,” Fifth ended his now-deleted post.
