Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat was rushed for medical evaluation following a serious health complication during an episode of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): Celebrity Collab Edition.
The incident happened right after she and her fellow housemates finished their weekly task when Xyriel felt sudden dizziness that caused her to nearly faint, prompting celebrity houseguest at the time, fellow Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan, to swiftly carry and bring her to the confession room.
Outside the room, the concerned housemates, led by Pangilinan, gathered to offer prayers for Xyriel’s recovery.
According to the medical specialist brought by Big Brother, Xyriel experienced symptoms of “acute stress disorder”, a psychological condition often triggered by overwhelming emotional stress, exhaustion, and lack of rest. Health experts described the incident as comparable to a severe asthma attack—not only in symptoms but also in the intensity of physical distress it caused.
It can be recalled that prior to the health episode, the former child star became emotional while opening up about her relationship with her family and reading the letter she received from them.
After getting some rest, Xyriel gave Kuya an update on how she was feeling.
“I’m alive. She’s back. Siyang tunay,” she said with a smile.
The actress shared that the last time she had a severe asthma attack was back in 2017.
“Alam ko sa sarili ko Kuya na naka-recover na ako. Clean na ako from nebulizer. Ang mga reason na lang ng pass out ko ay [hypoglycemia],” she explained.
Meanwhile, the reality show recently held its fourth nomination night, where the duos of Xyriel and Dustin Yu, as well as Ralph De Leon and Josh Ford, were nominated. Bianca De Vera and Shuvee Etrata also faced automatic nomination after the latter violated certain house rules.
