Rico Blanco is grieving the loss of his longtime companion, Sylvian.
The OPM icon on New Year’s Day, took to Instagram to share a compilation of throwback photos as he paid tribute to his beloved Czech and DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) Shepherd furbaby.
“Run free now, dearest Sylvian. My baby, my buddy, my joy. Thank you. I love you so much sylvie boy,” the singer-songwriter wrote as the caption.
Sylvian has been with Rico since 2013 and is also a parent to the singer’s other furbaby, named Queen.
Fellow celebrities such as MJ Lastimosa, Chito Miranda, and Ryan Agoncilllo offered their sympathies to the singer in the comments section.
Rico recently performed at the New Year’s Eve countdown event in Bonifacio Global City alongside Kpop girl group ITZY, English duo Honne, Sarah Geronimo, and Juan Karlos.
Meanwhile, a musical titled “Liwanag sa Dilim,” coming in March 2025 will feature Rico’s hits.
