“I am just a boy who is a fan.”
Despite speculations and sightings of the rumored couple together, basketball player Kobe Paras clarified that he and Kyline Alcantara are just “great friends.”
In an interview with GMA News Online at the GMA Gala 2024 on July 20, Kobe was bombarded with intriguing questions about love and relationships, one of which was about his real score with the Kapuso actress.
He simply said, “We are great friends.”
“Bakit girlfriend agad? Nagtanong na ba ako?” Kobe added, implying a possibility of them becoming official.
Upon further confirmation of his initial statement, he once again clarified and said, “We are just great friends right now, really close friends.”
In a separate interview with PEP.ph, being his first time on the station’s red carpet, the last minute, Kobe admitted that he went with his brother.
Fans were initially eager to see whether he would be with a particular someone and were surprised that he was not, as they were expecting him to be accompanied by a date.
Feigning innocence, Kobe teasingly asked, “Oh a date? I don’t know, sino ba ‘to?”
The athlete reiterated his purpose at the star-studded event, saying, “For tonight, I am just a boy who is a fan.”
“And you know, I think this is her first time walking alone. She deserves every spotlight. And I know tonight she’s gonna look amazing,” he added.
Kobe was also asked about his relationship deal-breaker, where he mentioned that he does not like someone rude, “The least you can do is be respectful.”
When questioned about his dream girl, he smilingly remarked, “There’s someone who’s gonna walk down tonight, yun na ‘yon.”
“She’s very ambitious, she is phenomenal at what she does. I get motivated myself seeing her do what she loves,” when asked what he appreciates the most about Kyline.
“It’s so nice seeing a girl boss,” he proudly concluded.
The two sparked rumors of them being official already due to the recent sightings of them where they are spotted holding hands in public.
Just recently, Kobe was seen kissing the actress’ forehead during the basketball player’s new tattoo shop opening.
Despite these, the two are yet to confirm whether they are already officially dating.
