South Korea-based Filipino actor Christian Lagahit mourned the sudden demise of Korean star Lee Sun Gyun, whom he had previously worked with in a film and a series.
The English teacher who portrayed player 276 in the hit Netflix series Squid Game, took to Facebook on Wednesday to pay tribute to Sun Gyun.
Lagahit shared he was able to work with the late actor in the film The Bad Police (Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage) and drama Diary of Prosecutor, both released in 2019.
“I had the opportunity to work with him twice, one in his movie The Bad Police / The Dawning Rage and in his drama Diary of a Prosecutor,” Lagahit shared as he reminisced about Sun Gyun’s working habits.
“I remember him as a very serious actor on the set but he will always greet us before and after work. I remember talking to him with my broken Korean while having coffee break when we were filming the drama,” said Lagahit.
“Thank you for the memories sunbae. Rest in peace,” he added.
South Korean media outlets reported on Wednesday, December 27 that Sun Gyun was found dead inside a car parked in Seoul’s Waryong Park.
