“Have you ever seen a mugshot that’s much prettier than mine?”
This was how social media personality Jam Magno described her viral mugshot after turning herself in for psychological violence.
According to the police report posted by Magno on her Facebook account, authorities in Butuan City detained the influencer on Tuesday, Dec. 12, after she “voluntarily surrendered” for violating Republic Act 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act.
Jam has already secured her bail amounting to P72,000.
On the other hand, Magno’s mugshot garnered mixed reactions from netizens as it circulated online. In the photo, the 35-year-old influencer was seen smiling as her mugshot was taken.
Jam explained the incident in her Facebook post, which garnered over 19,000 reactions on the platform.
“I smiled because I am NOT guilty,” she began.
“Have you ever seen a mugshot that’s much prettier than mine? Funny that people said I was arrested. Hahahahahaha,” she wrote.
“Correction. I surrendered and posted my 72,000 peso bail and did NOT ask for a discount, and I was escorted by an entire TEAM of Butuan’s BEST.”
Jam even quipped that her “Miranda Rights video” looked better than her mugshot.
She also thanked Butuan authorities for the “experience” and “speedy” assistance for her bail.
“Thank you to the Butuan City Police Station [for] for the wonderful experience today. I actually loved it! Hahahahaha! And to Barangay Ampayon’s New Barangay Captain Kim Acalayen for the fast process of my Bail Requirements,” she wrote.
