South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook has called off his supposed fan meet in Manila this 2020 as a precaution amid the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) scare.
His agency, Glorious Entertainment, made the announcement on Tuesday.
The statement said: “In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and related damage, we decided to postpone the ‘Ji Chang Wook 2020 Asia Tour Fan Meeting’ in Manila (Philippines).”
“We would like to ask you for a lot of understanding. Thank you,” it added.
Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the official name of the novel coronavirus as COVID-19.
The Korean superstar’s Manila stop is part of his Asia Tour Fan Meeting.
His events in Seoul, Bangkok and Taiwan were also postponed.
Chang Wook starred in popular K-dramas like Healer, The K2 and Suspicious Partner.
His most recent TV appearance was in the 2019 romantic comedy-drama Melting Me Softly.
Other Korean acts like EXO and the Running Man cast have already postponed their events in the country.
Meanwhile, K-pop group NCT Dream is set to hold their upcoming Dream Show at the New Frontier Theater Manila on February 29.
