Taping for MayWard’s teleserye postponed due to COVID-19

Kapamilya love team Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber’s taping for their first primetime teleserye together, Heart to Heart, has been postponed as a precautionary measure against the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Some scenes for the two’s series will be set in Japan. The show’s team is unable to travel to the country due to the travel advisories and restrictions amid the COVID-19 scare.

“Ngayon po kasi inayos yung script namin. Kasi nga yung nangyari sa coronavirus na laging safety first. Lalo na yung flights ngayon, dahil nga po sa location na target namin is Japan. Kami ni Edward sobrang masasabi namin na handa na kami at sobrang excited na kami,” Maymay said in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon

“So, let’s just see what happens, pray for it. I’m sure things will be fine. But it’s just a little bit of a pause muna. Reevaluate, kasi it’s not something to rush. For me, I wanna do more work. Of course, we’ll do everything that we can to help it push through. And give everyone what we’ve said they’re getting,” Edward added.

As preparation for the show, the two young artists are taking acting workshops and Japanese lessons.

“Sa ngayon po talaga mas masasabi namin na focused kami sa proyektong ibinigay sa amin. Hanggang ngayon naman patuloy pa rin po kami nagwo-workshop saka Japanese lessons though na cancel po yung first taping day namin. Na-cancel po dahil sa revision,” the young actress said.

According to Edward, their serye will be released this year but their script would need more revising before they can start shooting. “Dahil na rin sa characterization, para sigurado lahat, para maayos lahat, kaysa magbababago-bago. So yun, I think it’s close pero tingnan na lang po natin,” he said.

Maymay and Edward both mentioned their gratitude for their fans who have been supporting their love team since the beginning.

“Hanggang ngayon nandito pa rin sila. Yung suporta nila kasing laki pa din ng pagmamahal na binibigay nila sa amin. Ganon din kami ni Edward sa kanila. Mahal namin sila. Tinitreasure namin ang every moment na napi-feel na nabibigyan pa rin kami hanggang ngayon ng halaga,” she said.

Edward agreed that they have a big responsibility to return their fans’ love.

“There’s a responsibility there to our fans who love us so much. We have to make sure everyday kahit paano, ibabalik namin yung pagmamahal na binibigay nila. Thank you to everyone, you guys are amazing. We’ll just keep doing what we do. And with you guys by our side and us by yours, we’ll do our very best to make you happy everytime. So here’s to more years together,” Edward ended.
