The past couple of months proved to be jam-packed for Kapamilya star Joshua Garcia but his streak of new projects is far from over. The young actor landed a leading role in the film adaptation of Bob Ong’s best-selling book Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan.

Just weeks after releasing his new film Block Z and the finale of teleserye The Killer Bride, ABS-CBN’s film production brand Black Sheep announced Joshua’s next big role.

“Coming soon: we’ve got a first time co-production with Regal Entertainment Inc. and director Chito S. Roño for an adaptation of Bob Ong’s Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan, starring Joshua Garcia,” Blacksheep said in an Instagram post.

Ang Mga Kaibigan Ni Mama Susan is Bob Ong’s horror-mystery novel published in 2010. It highlights the life of Galo and his journal entries of everyday experiences which turn into eerie happenings the minute he returns to his hometown for Mama Susan, his ill grandmother.

The upcoming film will be directed by critically acclaimed director Chito S. Roño, the same director for the hit horror films Feng Shui, Sukob and The Ghost Bride.
