Despite broadcast giant ABS-CBN’s looming layoff of their workers by the end of August, Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez affirmed his loyalty for his home network.
“I appreciate everything the network is doing. They went through a lot the past couple of months and maraming naapektuhan. So I just want to stand by the network and with the people of ABS-CBN,” he said in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
The actor recently joined the network’s longest-running show Ang Probinsyano which can be viewed at the Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.
Richard shared his realizations on the network’s recent franchise denial.
“Ang realization ko sa nangyayari ngayon — ABS-CBN nandiyan pa rin, hindi sumusuko. I think if we look at the positive side of this, which I always like to do,” he said
Looking on the bright side, he said that ABS-CBN was given an opportunity to think out of the box and grow.
“Ngayon ang ABS-CBN ay nabigyan ng opportunity to think out of the box, to even grow as network, to grow creatively, to grow business-wise,” he said.
He predicted that his home network will be the pioneers of online content now that they have started their online shows.
“I think ABS-CBN will be the pioneers of online content and they’ll be number one online content for sure. I think itong bagong tinatahak na path ng ABS-CBN, I think it’s a breakthrough and I think it’s going to be pioneer of this kind of system,” Richard said.
