Newlyweds Jill Roxas-Lega and Allerie Lega from Las Piñas have decided to include some unconventional details in their garden wedding last October 8, 2019, at a resort in Tagaytay City.
According to the couple, each unique detail of their wedding has a story to tell and they made sure it was a wedding that depicts their individual personalities.
Instead of wine, the couple used a popular brand of gin, referred to as “gin bilog,” in their first toast as husband and wife.
“Gin kasi bilog ang mundo sabi nila about dun. ‘Di po namin alam na kami pala magkakatuluyan. Friends lang po kami noon, na-meet ko husband ko through a common friend no’ng 16 years old ako. It was 15 years ago,” she said.
Meanwhile, instead of wearing traditional high heels and black shoes, the couple chose to wear sneakers.
“‘Yung sa sneakers ‘di kami kasi talaga sanay ng formal na kasuotan. Mahilig kami mag-collect ng shoes lalo (na ‘yung) husband ko and mas gusto namin comfy kami that day so ‘yun napili namin,” she said.
The couple also chose to engrave their wedding rings with the words “game over.”
“Wala lang para lang symbolize na game over na kami talaga,” Mrs. Lega said.
The couple had their first civil wedding in 2018 and decided to come home from Vietnam for a Christian wedding last October 8, 2019. They are both working in Hanoi, Vietnam and are blessed with one offspring.
Photography studio owner Nazrene Gutierrez said that the unique details of the wedding perfectly represent the couple.
Gutierrez added that they did not expect that the wedding photos would become viral.
“Hindi po namin ine-expect kasi ‘di naman ganun karami followers namin. Naisipan lang namin gawan ng caption para ma-emphasize bawat detail ng wedding,” she said.
As of writing, the full set photos of the wedding have garnered more than 17,000 reactions and 28,000 shares.
