Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray checked in on her social media followers to ask how they are doing this holiday season under the “new normal.”
In her Instagram post, she opened up that she will be spending her Christmas away from family because of travel restrictions.
The beauty queen shared that despite being away from her family in Australia, she is grateful to spend it with “new family” in the United States.
“I’m missing my family terribly and unfortunately wasn’t able to go home to them because of travel restriction, but I’m grateful to be spending it with new family,” she wrote.
She then expressed her solidarity with those who are feeling alone this season.
“I know a lot of us are in the same position, away and missing our families and loved ones. Just want you to know, even though it may feel like it, you’re not alone this Christmas.
“And soon enough, we’ll all be together again. Sending you all big, big (cyber) hugs,” she said.
Just last week, Catriona celebrated the second anniversary of when she was crowned as Miss Universe. In her emotional post, she honored her parents who made her the woman she is today.
“Even though tears didn’t fall when the crown was placed on my hear, tears fell when I saw this footage the first time. Love you Mama and Papa,” she said.
