Philippine-based Syrian vlogger Basel Manadil, popularly known as The Hungry Syrian Wanderer, was once again lauded by netizens after buying all the vegetables kid vendors were selling and letting them “get as many as they want” at a mini-grocery store.
Basel on Wednesday shared via Facebook that he happened to pass by two young boys peddling vegetables on the street under the scorching heat of the sun.
“Para po may pang-aral po kami. Para may pang-kain po, kami,” the young boys told Basel when he asked them why they were out selling instead of staying at home.
Basel paid more than the exact value of the vegetables he bought by giving them P1,000.
He then decided to bring them at a nearby mini grocery store and told them to pick everything they can get from food to laundry items.
Basel later paid for the long list of groceries and even rented a sidecar so the boys could bring home the bags of goods for their families.
Basel said in a Facebook post: “Reviving bayanihan. I just want to use this platform to help those who are in need and to send awareness. If I can do it, you can, too. Spread Kindness and Positivity.”
