Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo cleared up the wedding rumors sparked by their mothers’ recent cryptic posts on social media.
On Instagram, Kathryn’s mom Min Bernardo first posted a photo of what looked like fabric from a bridal gown, while Karla Estrada, Daniel’s mom, followed with a photo of a wedding invitation card.
These posts sent KathNiel fans into a frenzy over the meaning of these posts.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe for TV Patrol on Tuesday, the love team and real-life couple said that they are getting married for reel, not for real.
“We are getting married… sa pinakabagong handog sa ating lahat ng Star Cinema,” KathNiel announced via TV Patrol.
They are referring to their first-ever digital series to be produced by ABS-CBN’s film arm, titled The House Arrest of Us. However, they clarified that the show is not a sequel nor it is connected to The Hows of Us, their blockbuster film from two years ago.
Kathryn said, “It’s not a sequel. Di siya connected sa The Hows of Us. It’s a family series and andun din yung romance, halu-halo siya but it’s not related to George and Primo (their characters from the film).”
This is going to be their first project together under “new normal”.
“Kakaibang experience,” Daniel said. “Parang kami nasa bubble lang din, walang pwedeng lumabas at walang pwede pumasok, kami-kami lang nandito.”
The story tells about two people who get locked down in one house with their respective families. The digital series will star Gardo Versoza, Dennis Padilla, Ruffa Gutierrez, among others.
