LOOK: Heart Evangelista makes ‘fashionably safe’ face masks

-

Heart Evangelista is dealing with the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in style.

The actress and fashionista said that she’s coming up with masks that are “more pretty” than the usual protective masks.

In a series of Instagram stories, she can be seen enlisting the help of her personal stylist Kat Cruz as she explained how to make them “fashionably safe”.

“Because life goes on, there’s work and wala akong choice. We are making ourselves fashionably safe,” Heart said.

According to her, the material came from Japan but since “it’s not for the virus,” a white filter gets stitched into the grey colored outer fabric. Then she said that the mask will be completed with her old, branded ribbons to “make it work”.

She further noted, “Reminder: The mask can only be used one time. Tapos tapon. Grabe lang ang effort.”

You have to give it to Heart for putting the effort to make one for herself.

Amid the rise of coronavirus cases, health officials have asked the public to use face masks like the surgical and N95 respirators judiciously as they need to be prioritized for healthcare workers and people in the frontlines of fighting the virus.

Instead, they stressed more the importance of hand hygiene and social distancing.

The World Health Organization has stated that if a person is healthy, he or she only needs to wear a mask if caring for a person suspected of being infected with COVID-19. A person who is coughing or sneezing, on the other hand, is urged to wear a mask, but it’s effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-washing with soap and water or alcohol, the international health agency further said.
