Early May, Kim Chiu was hit with criticism for the delivery of her sentiments, where she cited a classroom situation, during an online protest event.
Thankfully, the Kapamilya star’s boyfriend and onscreen partner Xian Lim was just one call away.
“Parang yun na yata ang pinakamarami kong tawag sa kanya. Para siyang sponge, kapag may problema ako, nalilipat ko sa kanya,” she said in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
The 30-year-old actress said Xian experienced anxious feelings during her whole “Bawal Lumabas’ ordeal.
“Tapos siya yung nagkaka-anxiety. Buti na lang lagi ko siyang kausap, lagi kami nagkukuwentuhan. Ina-advise niya rin ako, kasi siya din binash din siya dati ng mga tao,” she shared.
In a past Instagram post, Xian came to the defense of Kim after the nonstop bashing.
“Kim does not deserve to be singled out and get all the hate she is getting from people in the internet. She is a smart, empathetic person who deeply cares for all the people around her,” he said.
Despite the public lashing, Kim said she tried her best to remain positive.
“At the end of the day, tinitingnan ko na lang yung brighter side. Ang daming nag-a-unfold na opportunities because this ‘bawal lumabas’ bashing turned into something bright and sunny,” she said.
“Nalungkot lang ako because people are really putting you down. Sa dami nang sinabi na one hour and thirty minutes na kuda namindoon sa live video na yon, isang mali lang, bobo ka na in your entire life. Parang, ‘Uy! Sandali lang! Ikaw din naman, nagkakamali ka,’” Kim added.
Kim went on to release a full song version as well as merchandise for a cause inspired by her Bawal Lumabas statement.
