Some Kapamilya stars hit House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta for presenting videos of Kim Chiu’s viral “bawal lumabas” quote and Vice Ganda’s “stop” joke about Pastor Apollo Quiboloy during the House hearing on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN on Tuesday.
The Sagip party-list representative first played the 30-second clip of the Kapamilya actress’ controversial statement-turned-song before he proceeded with his accusations against the embattled network.
“Hindi po nag-comply sa batas ang ABS-CBN, kaya hindi po sila pwedeng lumabas at magpalabas,” the congressman said, connecting his opening statement to Kim’s quote.
In a Philstar.com report, Marcoleta alleged that the media giant “violated workers rights under the Constitution, the use of multiple channels on its now-expired franchise, the foreign ownership and tax evasion, among others.”
Marcoleta also used a video of Vice Ganda challenging Quiboloy to put an end to the network’s long-running drama series, Ang Probinsyano.
In a tweet, Vice Ganda took a jab at Marcoleta for “taking the joke seriously”.
“Hahahhaah!!!! Take the joke seriously. Take the congressman as a joke. Chugug!!!” Vice said.
Robi Domingo, on the other hand, called Marcoleta’s move unprofessional.
“Absent ba siya nung unang hearing? Paulit-ulit? ?,” the TV host said.
He added, “Also: That opening statement was really unprofessional. It wasn’t even funny. It was just plain mean.”
John Lapus, on the other hand, expressed disbelief that the hearing was treated like a “joke”.
“Grabe parang ginawang joke ang hearing. @prinsesachinita sa opening at @vicegandako sa closing. Tapos paulit-ulit. #WalangGanonMarcoleta,” the comedian-TV director said.
“Ano po ang kinalaman ni Vice Ganda????? Marcoleta, you are pathetic!!!,” chided Nikki Valdez.
“Wuw. Naloloka ako,” tweeted Bianca Gonzalez.
DJ Chacha also questioned the congressman’s video presentation.
She tweeted, “Ano ba ‘to school presentation? Susko! Kadiri. Ganito pinapasweldo ng tax natin?”
Film director Antoniette Jadaone, meanwhile, told Marcoleta to refer to the hearing last February where his accusations have already been discussed.
