Star Magic has issued a warning against online harassment directed at actress Michelle Garcia, the 13-year-old daughter of actor Patrick Garcia.
In a statement, Star Magic expressed concern over the “hurtful comments” aimed at Michelle and urged the public not to involve the young actress in matters concerning adults that happened before she was born.
The agency also said it is prepared to take “appropriate action” against individuals who continue to harass Michelle, citing laws protecting children from abuse and libel.
Michelle became the subject of online criticism amid renewed discussions about her father Patrick Garcia’s past, including his relationship with ex-girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado and his estrangement from their son Jazz.
Patrick previously clarified that he did not abandon Jennylyn, saying he had been prevented from approaching her at the time. He also explained that he only recently spoke publicly because the issue had begun affecting Michelle.
On Jazz, Patrick acknowledged that they last saw each other in 2017 due to distance and expressed gratitude to Dennis Trillo for looking after him.
Amid the controversy, Patrick has said his focus is on becoming a better father to his five children.
Star Magic, meanwhile, emphasized that it will continue to support Michelle and look after her well-being.
Jennylyn also earlier appealed to “stop the hate and refrain from bashing Patrick’s family, especially his daughter, Michelle.”
