Kio Dy, brother of volleyball player Kim Kianna Dy, is grieving the sudden death of his weeks-old son, Kaelo Do-Yoon Ha Dy, with content creator Lauren Kim.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared that Kaelo was born on July 17 and passed away on August 12.
“Our beautiful son, Kaelo Do-Yoon Ha Dy, came into this world on July 17 and left us far too soon on August 12,” they wrote.
Kio and Lauren thanked their families, friends, and supporters for their compassion and support during the difficult time. They also asked the public to respect their privacy as they grieve.
“Please allow us and our families the time and space to grieve,” they said.
In a separate message to Lauren, Kio thanked her for being their son’s mother and for the sacrifices she made throughout her pregnancy.
“No one can ever take away the fact that you are not only an amazing mom, but also an amazing person,” he wrote.
“I promise to protect you, our son, and our family,” Kio added.
