Kapuso singer Thea Astley has finally addressed the romance rumors involving her and Kapamilya actor Elijah Canlas after the two were spotted holding hands at a public market in La Union.
During a recent episode of the lifestyle vodcast TRGGRD, Thea explained that they were simply buying vegetables when the photo sparked speculation.
“Pinakbet,” she jokingly answered when asked what they were buying at the market. “Dahil lang sa pinakbet, ang dami nang nasabi.” 😅
Thea also clarified that the viral screenshot was taken out of context, explaining that the original video made it appear differently.
“It was just taken out of context,” she said, adding that she and Elijah have been friends for years.
“I just want to clear that Elijah and I are friends,” Thea stressed. “I’ve never cheated on anyone. I’ve never been the third party in any relationship to my knowledge.”
“I would never ever willingly come between a relationship. Gets ko yung pain nung mga fans, but also I hope you could give me a little bit of grace,” she added.
The dating rumors surfaced amid speculation about Elijah’s relationship with Eat Bulaga host Miles Ocampo. Neither Elijah nor Miles has publicly addressed the issue.
