Content creator Gavin Capinpi, popularly known as Ser Geybin, has finally addressed the rumors surrounding his personal life after taking a temporary hiatus from vlogging.
On June 7, the social media personality released a vlog titled “Bangon”, where he opened up about the challenges he has been facing in recent months, including health concerns, mental health struggles, and the online rumors that emerged during his absence.
The controversy began after Ser Geybin’s family announced that he would be stepping away from content creation to focus on what they described as a “matinding pinagdaraanan”.
The announcement, coupled with his decision to reflect on his relationship with longtime girlfriend Elma Asagra, led to widespread speculation among followers.
While many supporters expressed concern and sympathy, others theorized about the state of his relationship, with some alleging the involvement of a third party and others assuming that the couple had already separated.
In his latest vlog, Ser Geybin first clarified that his struggles stemmed from physical and emotional exhaustion that eventually led to hospitalization.
“Grabe yung pinagdaanan ko na yon, lalo na yung naospital na ako, hindi ko akalain na ganon,” he shared. “Kasi ganon daw po pala kapag sobrang pagod ako, sobrang daming problemang pumapasok, daming obligasyon, naghalo-halo. Hindi ko na makontrol yung nangyayari sa akin.”
The vlogger revealed that recovering from his hospitalization was far from easy, as he continued to struggle with sleep and eating. He credited Elma for helping him through the difficult period.
“Akala ko makakapagpahinga na ako pagkatapos ko maospital, kasi ilang araw din akong nawala, e, pero hindi po. Hindi ako nakakatulog, hindi po ako nakakakain, pero mabuti na lang nandito ang aking nurse,” he said. “Siya yung nag-alaga sa akin. Sobrang lungkot ko din sa nangyari kasi pati siya nadadamay.”
Ser Geybin also revisited a previous emotional video featuring Elma and his brother Allen. According to him, the moment was genuine and reflected his fears and insecurities about marriage and his readiness for the future.
“Ang daming nababasa ko na comment na gusto niya na magpakasal. Ngayon, parang pine-pressure ko yung sarili ko,” he recalled.
He admitted that he once told Elma to leave him because he felt unprepared for marriage.
“Sabi ko, ‘Love, hiwalayan mo na lang ako kasi ako hindi pa ako handa.’ So siya naman, nasaktan, una una, pero buti pinapaintindi niya. Pero ang matindi no’n, hindi ko naiintindihan that time.”
The content creator emphasized that the said vlog was intended to raise awareness about mental health and to share his personal experiences. However, he noted that many viewers dismissed the video as a prank due to the comedic nature of his usual content.
“Ang nangyari ho, marami naka-relate. Ang dami. Ang nangyari, dahil ang mga vlog namin ay puro kalokohan, akala po nila eh joke lang ‘yon. Akala po nila prank. Hindi po prank ‘yun. Totoo po talagang nangyayari at nangyari po talaga sa akin ‘yon,” he clarified.
He also expressed disappointment over the numerous rumors that surfaced while he was away, prompting him to consider being more private about personal matters moving forward.
“Ang isa pa na baka ito na po ‘yung huli naming beses na gagawin na mag-post kami ng aksidente o magsabi ng problema sa inyo kasi ang daming haka-haka. Ang daming lumalabas,” he said.
Addressing the most persistent rumor, Ser Geybin firmly denied claims that he and Elma had broken up.
“Guys, hindi po kami naghiwalay. Okay? Hindi po kami naghiwalay,” he stressed.
The vlogger also defended several women who had been unfairly linked to him online, including his best friend and another friend from La Union named Ayra.
“Yung best friend ko, ayun daw yung reason kung bakit kami naghiwalay. May asawa na po yon. Nakita lang nila yung throwback picture,” he explained.
“Yung tropa ko rin sa La Union, si Ayra. Ang dami-daming lumalabas sa TikTok na nakita na kumakain kami, magkatabi lang kami, iyon na raw yung dahilan kung bakit kami naghiwalay [ni Elma]. Guys, tropa po yon. Tropa po namin yon. Alam po ni Elma yon.”
Elma herself echoed his statement, saying, “Opo, guys, tropa po yon.”
According to Ser Geybin, the couple immediately reached out to those affected by the rumors to apologize for the unwanted attention they received.
“Dyusko, guys, nakakahiya. Kaya kinontak po namin agad sila kasi hiyang-hiya po kami,” he shared.
While those involved reportedly took the issue lightly, Ser Geybin admitted that he and Elma felt responsible for the situation.
“Natatawa lang naman po sila sa mga nangyayari. Kaso nga lang, kami, nahihiya kasi hindi po nila alam pero sila nadadamay. Kaya baka iyon na po ang huli naming pag-a-upload kasi nakakatakot. Ang daming nangyayaring hindi totoo.”
To reassure fans that their relationship remains strong despite the challenges, Ser Geybin and Elma ended the vlog by spending time together on a simple date, marking a hopeful step forward after weeks of personal struggles and online scrutiny.
