Mutya Orquia opens up about mental health struggles, offers message of hope to others: ‘Be gentle with yourself’

Former child star Mutya Orquia bravely opened up about her mental health journey, sharing both her struggles and words of encouragement for others facing similar battles.

In a TikTok post uploaded on Monday June 1, Mutya gave her followers a glimpse into the highs and lows of her life through a compilation of photos and videos.

The montage featured moments of happiness with family, friends, and rumored boyfriend Miggs Cuaderno, alongside emotional clips of herself crying, feeling overwhelmed, and appearing to be hospitalized amid her mental health challenges.

“Some days are good, some days are not… But just remember that there’s always another day. Another blessing in life, and another chance to live,” Mutya wrote in the video.

In the caption, the actress shared a heartfelt message about the importance of compassion and understanding for those silently struggling.

“Mental health struggles can’t always be seen, and not everyone who is hurting will ask for help. Let’s always choose kindness, patience, and understanding. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or a few words of encouragement can mean more than we realize,” she wrote.

She also reminded those going through difficult times that healing is a process.

“To everyone fighting their own battles, your feelings are valid, your struggles are real, and you are not alone. Keep going, one day at a time. You can’t heal in just one day, and it’s okay to take things at your own pace. Be gentle with yourself,” Orquia added.

The post quickly resonated with fans and supporters, with many flooding the comments section with messages of love and encouragement.

Among those who left a message was Miggs, who wrote, “I love you, we love you.”

Mutya responded with gratitude, saying, “Thank you for always being here, thank you for everything.”

Fellow former child star Ashley Sarmiento also showed her support, commenting, “Love you, bro.”

“Aww hugs Mutty. I knew it na feel namin ng Angeliance ’yun but we are still here for you no matter what happens. You’re stronger than you think,” one fan wrote.

Another supporter commented, “We love you, Mutya! Just keep on shining, and we are always here to support you. You have so much to offer this world, and you truly deserve all the kindness and blessings coming your way.”
