Indie film actress Sue Prado dead at 44

Award-winning actress Sue Prado has passed away at the age of 44 due to cardiac arrest.

The news of her death was confirmed by her family through social media on Wednesday evening, April 15. In a Facebook post, her sister, May Shereen Prado, announced the actress’s passing.

“Our dearest Sue M. Prado has become a constant star in the night sky. It is with profound pain that we share Sue’s passing,” she wrote. “Sue brought light in anyone’s path throughout her life. A life lived for others, for the craft she nourished and for those who she loved most. Please celebrate her in any way you know how, and honor her memory through kindness.”

On Friday, April 17, the actress’ family revealed that she died of cardiac arrest. The information was shared by her sister, Guia Antonette, in an interview with Jerry Olea of PEP.ph.

“Wala akong alam na iniinda niya pero alam naman natin, kapag sakit sa puso, napakatraydor, e,” Guia Antonette reportedly told PEP.ph. “Ito yung napaka-fatal siguro.”

Sue was widely recognized for her work across indie cinema and mainstream television, starring in notable films such as “Barber’s Tales”, “Oro”, “Thelma”, “Ilustrado”, and “Madrasta”. She was most recently seen in the film “Desperada”.

She was also part of the long-running Kapamilya series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”, as well as “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”, “Prinsesa ng City Jail”, and “My Father’s Wife”.

In what would become her final Instagram post, Sue shared a message about love and life as she thanked those who attended the premiere night of her latest project.

“Maikli lang po ang panahon natin sa mundo kaya i-express natin ang pagmamahal natin sa mga mahal natin, kasi hindi natin alam kung hanggang kailan,” she wrote, as quoted by ABS-CBN News.
