Katy Perry accused of sexual assault by Ruby Rose; singer’s rep denies ‘reckless lies’ from actress

Model-actress Ruby Rose made serious allegations against pop star Katy Perry, claiming she was sexually assaulted by the singer nearly two decades ago.

The accusation surfaced over the weekend through a Threads post, where Rose responded to an article about Katy’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s headline set at Coachella 2026.

In the comment section, Rose alleged that Perry assaulted her at a nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her early 20s.

“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a sh*t what she thinks,” Rose wrote.

In following posts, the 40-year-old actress said it took her nearly two decades to speak publicly about the alleged incident.

“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” she shared, expressing gratitude for the support she has received. She also opened up about the emotional toll of trauma, saying she felt compelled to finally “get it out.”

Rose later revealed that she had reported the matter to authorities, filing complaints against four individuals, including Perry.

She acknowledged uncertainty over whether the cases fall within the statute of limitations but said she would still pursue possible investigations.

According to her, she has been referred to a specialized department due to Perry’s high-profile status and is also in contact with a child abuse unit regarding other incidents.

The actress further claimed that within 24 hours of her going public, three other individuals had come forward with their own accounts, which she said she has since shared on her platform.

In response, a representative for Perry strongly denied the allegations in a statement to media outlets, calling them “categorically false” and describing them as “dangerous” and “reckless.” The statement also alleged that Rose has a “well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Rose pushed back against the claim, writing, “Well-documented history of what now? I have never, ever, made serious public allegations on social media like this.”

The allegations come amid renewed scrutiny of Perry, who has previously faced accusations of inappropriate behavior.

In 2018, she drew backlash after kissing an “American Idol” contestant without prior consent during an audition. A year later, actor Josh Kloss accused her of misconduct, including alleged verbal abuse and an incident in which he claimed she exposed him without consent at a party. Georgian television host Tina Kandelaki also alleged that Perry acted inappropriately toward her at a separate event.

Rose, known for her role in the series “Orange Is the New Black”, as well as films such as “John Wick: Chapter 2”, “Pitch Perfect 3” and “The Meg”, said she plans to provide updates as she continues engaging with authorities.
