Local artists and singers were spotted at the Newport Performing Arts Theater as they showed support for “Bagets: The Musical.”
Rising stars Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji said they were proud and amazed to watch fellow “Ang Mutya ng Section E” (AMNSE) stars Andres Muhlach, Sam Shoaf, and Ethan David perform in “Bagets: The Musical” on Friday, February 21, 2026.
“It’s my first time watching a musical. Sa entire 3 hours, walang time na na-bored ako,” Angela said in an exclusive interview with The Philippine STAR.
“Nagtataka ako paano nila nagagawa ‘yun?” Rabin echoed.
Rabin then shared how he witnessed the hard work of his fellow AMNSE actors for the musical.
“Si Dres, talagang nakikita ko siya sa set, talagang inaaral niya ‘yung sayaw niya. Ang galing niya dito, bilib na bilib kay Andres. Proud na proud ako sa kanya. Ibang-iba ‘yung pag arte mo sa pelikula chaka sa teatro,” he noted.
Kapamilya actress Kai Montinola was also spotted in the crowd last Friday.

Meanwhile, OPM artist Maki and SB19’s Justin de Dios were spotted during the Gala Night of the Musical last January 29, 2026.
Justin said that he’s supporting his friend, Tomas Rodriguez, who is playing as “Gilbert” in the musical.
“It’s really nice. It’s really interesting. I’m here to actually support Tomas of Alamat. Nakakatuwa!” he said.
Maki had nothing but praise for the whole cast of the musical revival of the 1984 film.
“It’s super refreshing. It’s really, really nice to see how everyone played the role. The actors are really good,” he noted.
The coming-of-age musical will run until March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Tickets are available via TicketWorld, Ticket2Me, and the Newport World Resorts website.
