Jhoanna sets boundaries on BINI’s personal lives from public curiosity: ‘Human din kami’

Jhoanna, leader of “Nation’s Girl Group” BINI, defended her group’s right to keep some parts of their personal lives “private” and “protected.”

As Valentine’s Day rolled in, BINI members doubled down on self-love and boundaries as key to balancing fame and protecting their personal spaces.

During an interview with the press at their recent mall show in Quezon City, Jhoanna acknowledged that while interest and curiosity from fans are “normal,” some parts of their lives, including private relationships and personal issues, are meant to stay private.

“’Yung pagiging curious nila, normal naman ‘yun. Siyempre supporters namin sila. Ever since, may nakasama kami simula pa lang. Pagiging curious — it is OK,” said Jhoanna.

“Willing naman kami i-share mga dreams namin and struggle. Mga dapat i-share, we will share freely. Pero feeling ko natutunan namin last year na — some things are meant to be private and protected.”

“Hindi lang ito dahil gusto namin [itago]. Gusto namin i-protect. ‘Yun din sana maintindihan nila,” she reasoned.

“Siguro ‘di lang Blooms, pati casuals. Human din kami. Paano nila i-treat sarili nila, ganoon din kami. Normal din po kami.”

Some members of the group have previously been the subject of online speculation involving dating rumors, including Maloi’s alleged link to Zild of IV of Spades, Jhoanna’s rumored romance with rapper Skusta Clee, and Gwen’s sighting with Patrick of VXON.

Meanwhile, BINI expressed gratitude to loyal supporters who attended their Valentine’s Day mall event, the BINI Kilig Festival, where they previewed their upcoming release “Unang Kilig” along with its music video.

“Ito na ulit pagkakataon para makasama namin ang Blooms sa mall show ng ganoong setting,” Maloi said.

“We are doing fine, we are doing great, we are happy. Of course, may pagod pero mas iniisip namin ‘yung goal namin,” Stacey added.

The track drops ahead of their highly anticipated appearance at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California on April , where they will make history as the first P-pop act to perform alongside international artists.
