Former Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee is pursuing legal action against social media personality Xian Gaza, accusing him of spreading malicious allegations about her online.
Dee personally filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation Cybercrime Division on Monday, Feb. 16, accompanied by her legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Garduque.
The beauty queen alleged that Gaza, along with several Facebook pages, shared posts that amounted to defamation and have begun harming her reputation.
“[…] With everything going on, dapat lumapit na po tayo sa mga tamang official for them to extend their help as well. And I’m here to call for accountability,” Dee said in her interview with the press.
“Alam ko naman na artista ako and a beauty queen also. I know scrutiny is always part of the job pero in cases like this of course it’s a call for accountability against fake news, against misinformation,” the former Miss Universe Philippines stressed. “Hindi po ito teleserye, mga totoong buhay po ang naaapektuhan.”
Dee, alongside actress Rhian Ramos and fellow beauty queen Samantha Panlilio, was previously embroiled in serious allegations involving the alleged illegal detention and torture of Ramos’ personal driver.
