Actresses Mutya Orquia and Kolette Madelo are ready to take their pairing to the next level as they expressed their willingness to star in a Girls’ Love (GL) project.
The pair surprised and amused fans and netizens with their unexpected chemistry in the thriller series “What Lies Beneath,” where they portrayed Louisa and Liezel—two friends who fell into a secret romantic relationship that was eventually torn apart by tragedy and death.
The revelation of their relationship drew the two characters into intimate moments, portrayed subtly and tenderly, sparking a shared sense of “kilig” and heartbreak among viewers and netizens alike. Following the strong audience response, fans began calling their pairing “MuLette”.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, the young stars reacted to the public’s reception of their pairing.
“Nagulat talaga kami ni Koko na nagustuhan ng mga tao,” said Mutya. “Kinagat talaga nila ‘yon ta’s may mga nagshi-ship na sa’min ngayon. Effective talaga s’ya.”
Kolette, for her part, expressed how honored she felt working with Mutya, who first rose to fame as a child star.
“Kinakabahan talaga ako lalo na ‘yung kasama ko? Mutya? Grabeng galing, sobrang galing,” Madelo said as she praised Orquia.
When asked if they would continue the hype of their pairing and star in their own GL series, both Mutya and Kolette shared their excitement about the idea.
“Willing naman po talaga ako makipag-work lalo na kay Mutya,” said Kolette.
“I’m G for a GL. G talaga ako kasi sabi ko it’s a challenging role and at the same time, comfy naman ako,” echoed Mutya.
