Filipino-American influencer Bretman Rock did not hold back as he named Vanessa Hudgens while spilling the tea on his most disappointing celebrity encounter.
Appearing on Filipino-American singer-songwriter AJ Rafael and his wife Alyssa Navarro’s Sweet or Savory podcast episode titled “Bretman Rock Spills the Tea,” Bretman recalled meeting the Filipina-American actress at Coachella around 2017.
Although AJ initially suggested keeping the name anonymous, Bretman quickly dropped it himself. “V.H. Vanessa Hudgens. I don’t like her, like, literally,” he said.
According to Bretman, the awkward moment happened when he saw CEO of a vitamin brand whom he was friends with, talking to Vanessa. When he tried waving CEO, Bretman claimed Vaness mistook his gesture as him trying to get her attention.
“First of all, I am not saying hi to you. I was always Team Sharpay,” Bretman said, referencing Hudgens’ High School Musical co-star. “Second of all, you are not even Mexican. And third of all, I am not a fan.”
Bretman added that Vanessa appeared uncomfortable, alleging that she pulled her assistant in front of her as he walked closer, despite him intending to greet the CEO.
“I was not saying hi to you, Vanessa. I still don’t give an F,” he said, addressing her “Coachella Queen” reputation. “You’re not above me. I’m not under you. We had the same pass.”
The beauty influencer emphasized that he knows celebrity etiquette and has never asked a famous person for a photo. “I know time and place. I’ve never asked a celebrity for a picture, ever,” he said.
Ending his story on a pointed note, Bretman expressed disappointment over what he felt was a lack of warmth from a fellow Filipina-American. “I’m Filipino, b*tch, and you can’t even like your own people.”
