‘I’mPerfect’ wins big at MMFF 2025; Vice Ganda, Krystel Go earn top acting awards

History was made at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival as Vice Ganda and Krystel Go clinched milestone acting wins at the annual Gabi ng Parangal on Friday, December 27, at the Dusit Thani Manila in Makati.

Vice Ganda earned his first-ever MMFF Best Actor award for Call Me Mother, marking a career milestone for the comedian and box-office star. Krystel Go made history by winning Best Actress for I’mPerfect, a film starring young adults with Down syndrome, which also took home the Best Picture award.

The awards night gathered filmmakers, cast members, and industry leaders, celebrating the achievements of local films currently screening as part of the annual MMFF.

Other major winners included Jeffrey Jeturian (Best Director) for Unmarry, Odette Khan (Best Supporting Actress) and Tom Rodriguez (Best Supporting Actor), and Chris Martinez and Therese Cayaba – Unmarry (Best Screenplay).

The MMFF entries will continue to screen in cinemas nationwide until January 14, 2026.

Best Child Performer – Lucas Andalio (Call Me Mother)

Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Odette Khan (Bar Boys: After School)

Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Unmarry (Tom Rodriguez)

Best Screenplay – Unmarry (Chris Martinez and Therese Cayaba)
