Actor Archie Alemania has been found guilty of Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code in connection with the complaint filed against him by actress Rita Daniela.
The Metropolitan Trial Court of Bacoor City, Branch 2, sentenced Alemania to an indeterminate penalty of one month and one day of arresto mayor as minimum, to one year and one day as maximum.
He was also ordered to pay ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages.
In a statement, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, Rita Daniela’s legal counsel, welcomed the verdict.
“We are very happy with the decision. Rita fought and she attained justice. Thank God,” she said.
According to the court’s resolution, Alemania’s own admission and apology to Rita served as the basis for the court’s finding of guilt.
Rita filed the complaint in October 2024 before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor, alleging that the actor harassed her during and after a private gathering with fellow celebrities.
Alemania has not released a statement as of this writing.
