BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has made history as the fastest Korean female solo artist to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams on Spotify.
The milestone comes shortly after the release of her newest collaboration single with former One Direction member Zayn Malik titled “EYES CLOSED.”
The duet, released on October 10, entered Spotify’s Top Songs Global chart at No. 21, achieving high rankings on daily Top Songs charts in 32 countries. It also dominated digital platforms worldwide, debuting at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Singles Chart in 40 regions.
The music video also took the No. 1 spot on YouTube Music’s Worldwide Trending chart in 74 countries.
With this release, Korean media outlets reported Jisoo officially surpassing 1 billion total streams on Spotify across just eight solo tracks in 925 days, securing her place in history as the first Korean female soloist to reach this record.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to resume their world tour in Taiwan, which will continue across Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Bulacan, Philippines until the end of January.
